Tap into the mysteries of the SAN People of Southern Africa

Time to head for the mountains. Welcome to Kamberg — home to the Rosetta Stone of SAN (bushman) Rock Art. Meet your Anthropologist, Dr Jeremy Hollmann, who’ll help you unlock this mysterious place. The experience kicks off with an introductory video before you embark on your hike.

Dr Hollmann will guide you through the rugged terrain to Game Pass Shelter and delve deeper into the anthropology of the SAN people. After an idyllic picnic (included), immerse yourself in a private SAN Rock Art workshop where you will get a chance to handle tools, pigments and artefacts used by the bushman. Learn about how these authentic materials were used.

A visit to the renowned Ardmore Ceramics is in order — expect an exhibition of creativity and the chance to meet the ceramicists. Finish the day with an iconic stop at the Nelson Mandela Capture Site for a look into South African history and a bucketlist photograph.
