SAN ROCK ART EXPEDITION
Unlock the mysteries of the Bushman of South Africa
Tuck into a packed breakfast as we head for the hills or should we say mountains. Welcome to Kamberg — home to some of the most breathtaking rock art on the planet. Meet your Rock Art Specialist & Anthropologist, Dr Jeremy Hollmann, who’ll help you unlock this mysterious place.
The experience kicks off with a video and hike to the Game Pass Shelter with a local guide. Dr Hollmann will guide you through the rugged terrain to 2 restricted sites and delve deeper into the anthropology of the bushman. After an idyllic gourmet picnic (included), immersive yourself in a private SAN Rock Art workshop where you can paint using authentic materials and traditional techniques to create bushman inspired art on hides. Is there a better keepsake?
Time to head down to Nottingham Road and explore the unique boutique shops and craft treats. A visit to the renowned Ardmore Ceramics is in order — expect an exhibition of creativity! Finish the day with a stop at Howick Falls for a snap of the cascading Umgeni River.
